2016 AMYA V-32 National Championship Regatta

Aug 27, 2016, Moraine, OH

NCR was sailed in very light winds in the morning and 4 to 6 mph in the hot afternoon.   Nine races were completed in the morning due to low wind and a delay for a local cardboard boat race.  Wind picked up in the afternoon, but a storm forced us to quit at 2:30 pm, so only 15 races were completed.  Will post some photos when available. 2016_ncr_results

The Kettering Model Sailing Club members have named this event the David Kovacs Memorial NCR in honor of our club member who suddenly passed away early this year of a heart attack.  David was in his late 40s with no known heart problems.  He was a great V-32 skipper and a good friend. We will miss him.

Eleven V-32s competed in light winds.  There were many long periods of drifting aimlessly about.  Mike Wyatt set up many short courses that enabled us to finish the regatta right before a heavy rain.

2014 V-32 National Championship Regatta. Kettering, OH, August 16, 2014

V-32s raced in very nice conditions.  We had wind of 4 to 10 mph, overcast skies, and low 80s temperatures. Twenty-one races were completed before the rain came.
